tHReshold Roundtables

thresholdHR has established HRexchange as peer group support network for human resource managers of small to medium sized enterprises (SME’s). HRexchange brings human resource professionals, administrators and company owners together in carefully selected groups for an invigorating exchange of information, ideas and insights. Between 12 – 15 members from non-competing companies will share their experiences and knowledge to improve the effectiveness of human resources in the workplace.

This dynamic convergence of people and ideas results in

  • More effective decision making in HR implementation
  • Increased focus on transformational HR vs traditional HR
  • Increased ability to identify trends and upcoming industry issues
  • A diverse peer group of HR professionals that assist in the development of each participant and their businesses
  • The opportunity to compare and benchmark business practices across industries
  • A ‘sharing of minds’ and focused discussion on topics selected by participants
  • A sounding board for discussing confidential issues that you cannot easily discuss with anyone else

How the HRexchange works

HR professionals from industry, government and academia meet every month in roundtables of approximately 12 members. Meetings are facilitated by experienced and well-regarded HR practitioners – managers in their own right. On occasion, experts from carefully selected businesses, academics or consultancies provide support in specific areas of interest.

Topics for discussion are determined by each HRoundtable. Topics typically reflect critical HR issues, including recruitment, retention, talent management, productivity, managing workforce diversity, risk management, organisational culture and leadership development.

Meetings are held at selected offices or hosted at participating organisations’ premises. A relaxed and confidential environment enables participants to gain insights into each others’ organisations and the challenges they face through a 2-level process.

1.      Monthly morning peer group meetings

The foundation of your HRoundtable membership is the peer group, made up of 12 to 15 HR professionals in businesses that are comparable to but not in competition with your company. There are three segments in each monthly 2 hour session:

HR Spotlight Each month a designated member of the roundtable presents a current HR issue, challenge or topic for discussion and knowledge sharing.

HR Exchange Each person has the opportunity to present a concern to the full table for immediate feedback and comment.

HR Insight Topical presentation from industry or academic expert on the latest HR best practice to develop knowledge and learning.

2.      All member half – day seminars (optional)

Two or three times each year, these seminars explore HR topics of special, timely interest to all HR professional’s. Led by experts or by selected members, they provide an opportunity for you to meet and share ideas with other HRexchange members from different groups
